Redmond Gary Australia has continued its investment in specialised equipment to test its range of winches. The Redmond Gary Engineering team has designed and manufactured a dynamic winch tester to test winches in accordance with the Australian Standards with loading capacity up to 100kN. The tester is anchored to concrete piers in Redmond Gary’s workshop and the winch is placed approximately 30m away from the tester with separate anchor locations. The tester is used when the rope is horizontal to the ground and can be easily calibrated by a digital display to test within the requirements of the particular winch. The tester has been designed to be a safe method of testing winches on a regular basis because the tester is operating horizontal to the ground we don’t have suspended loads and the associated dangers with this type of testing method.
