Redmond Gary Australia installs an additional CNC lathe in its Molendinar manufacturing facility. The new machine is a Mazak Super Quick Turn 30M. This machine will increase the machine shop through-put and at the same time reduce manufacturing costs. The machine is the first lathe in Redmond Gary’s workshop that incorporates milling and drilling as well as turning on the one machine. This will reduce the need for secondary setups or post-processing parts on other machines. The machine was installed over the Christmas break and has just been commissioned. The machine has a workpiece capacity of up to 400mm diameter x 1500mm between centres. The machine is equipped with extra large spindle drive with spindle power of 30kW enabling rapid metal removal rates and the use of hi-tech tooling. Staff will begin training on the new machine in the next two weeks.
